1.0) Purpose and Scope
This statement establishes West Coast Magnetic’s requirements to comply with the European Union’s Directive 2002/95/EC Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS Directive).
1.1) Statement of Compliance
West Coast Magnetics may ask our suppliers to sign a letter verifying compliance with the RoHS Directive.
2.0) Definition of Compliance
A product shall be deemed RoHS compliant by West Coast Magnetics when it has been verified by testing, evaluation, or by supplier verification to have not more than the specified percentages of the following six materials:
- Lead (Pb) 0.1% by weight (1000 ppm)
- Hexavalent Chromium (Cr +6), 0.1% by weight (1000 ppm)
- Mercury (Hg), 0.1% by weight (1000 ppm)
- Cadmium (Cd), 0.01% ppm by weight (100 ppm)
- PolyBrominated Biphenyl (PBB), 0.1% by weight (1000 ppm)
- PolyBrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE), 0.1% by weight (1000 ppm)
3.0) Verification of Compliance
West Coast Magnetics shall maintain documentation and test data related to RoHS compliance, and information from suppliers verifying compliance with RoHS on file and made available on request.
4.0) Timetable
West Coast Magnetic’s goal is to transition all common mode choke, current sense transformer, inductor, and base drive transformer standard product offerings to 100% RoHS compliance by July 2006. West Coast Magnetics intends to make all custom transformer product offerings including 401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406, 407, 408, 801, 802, 803, 804 series available in RoHS compliant versions by July 2006. West Coast Magnetics intends to offer an RoHS alternative to all our customers on all of their products, whether or not designed and specified by West Coast Magnetics, by July 2006 or sooner upon request by the customer.
